MAGIC WORDS
Blazimbo
Common Magician's Applications: Vanishing.
In Literature:
• "'You didn't say the magic word.' 'Huh?' In all her readings, Lucinda
couldn't remember anything being said about a magic word. All words
were supposed to be magic, if used properly. 'Blazimbo,' Xeno told her.
'If you want your magic to work, you've got to say Blazimbo.' Mabel
snickered. 'You don't believe me?' Xeno asked. 'Watch.' Raising a perfectly
manicured finger, he pointed it at Mabel. 'Blazimbo.' What happened
next was, without question, the most amazing thing Lucinda had
ever seen. One instant her best friend was standing by her side, the next
she was gone. Vanished. Disappeared." -- Mike Baker, "Suffer a Witch,"

Blessed Be
(see blessings)
In Literature:
• "Forget hocus-pocus, abracadabra, and kaboom and begin transforming
the world's 'Double, double toil and trouble' with your passionate 'Blessed
be!'" -- Sarah Ban Breathnach, Romancing the Ordinary (2002)
Blessings
Mystique: Professional magician Kenton Knepper (The Mystic of Magic)
says of the word blessings:
On stage and in personal life I often use this word, as I find it
to be very powerful and magical. Many times I will sign my
autograph with the word: Blessings. I do not define that word
for others, as I have found that it has a power all its own. When
I produce flowers or coins from the air, I remind the audience
that it is important to count one's blessings. "For as you count
your Blessings, so do you find yourself Blessed." One day I
received an e-mail back from a person who was thrilled that
they had "been Blessed." "I have never been Blessed before,
let alone from the Mystic of Magic! What an honor. I feel
different now, thinking of myself as Blessed." If you doubt
the power of this word, when saying goodbye to a friend, say
to them "Blessings!" Their reactions are worth observing. Use
